Crack Sealing

Polymer-modified crack sealing compounds for traffic surfaces

Cracks in asphalt and concrete traffic surfaces develop as a result of thermal stresses, traffic loads, material fatigue and age-related changes in the pavement structure. Untreated cracks allow water and contaminants to penetrate, accelerate structural deterioration and can significantly reduce the service life of the traffic surface.

GusjoinT® develops and supplies polymer-modified, bitumen-based crack sealing compounds specifically designed and approved for the rehabilitation and sealing of cracks in traffic surfaces. The objective is durable sealing while allowing for movement within the crack zone.

Info

Areas of Application

  • crack sealing in asphalt and concrete pavements

  • rehabilitation of traffic surfaces with open or pronounced crack patterns

  • repair of ageing- or stress-related cracks

  • traffic surfaces with normal to high traffic loads

  • local crack sealing as part of maintenance works

Normative Basis

GusjoinT® crack sealing compounds are manufactured and applied in accordance with the German technical regulation TL Fug-StB 25.
This regulation defines the requirements for material properties, performance characteristics and suitability of crack sealing compounds for use in traffic surface construction.

GusjoinT® Products for Crack Sealing

Hot-applied, polymer-modified crack sealing compound

GusjoinT®-T85 is a polymer-modified, bitumen-based crack sealing compound for the rehabilitation and sealing of cracks in asphalt and concrete traffic surfaces.
The compound is also suitable for application using the crack covering method (overseal banding) and enables durable surface coverage of the crack area.

The material remains stable at high temperatures and elastic at low temperatures, allowing reliable accommodation of crack movements. Traffic surfaces can be reopened shortly after cooling.

Application:
Crack sealing in asphalt and concrete surfaces, including pronounced crack patterns and maintenance works.

Standard:
TL Fug-StB 25
